- Artist biography
Richard Orlinski is a French artist born in 1966 in Paris. From the beginning, he surrounded himself with a team of highly qualified technicians. His artworks, conceived around the "Born Wild" concept, reflect essential values in a resolutely contemporary style that never succumbs to trashiness, extravagance, or the ephemeral.
His works appeal to a wide audience, including children fascinated by his iconic creations. He has been a guest of honor at Art Elysées, Art Paris, Artiferia in Bologna, and the Cannes, Deauville, and Cabourg art festivals.
In 2010, he was ranked the second best-selling contemporary French artist in France by Art Price, and two of his works were among the top 10 auction results of 2011.
Richard Orlinski sculpts to elevate reality and create vibrant, beautiful, and timeless works of art that evoke emotion in the viewer. Deeply rooted in his time, Richard Orlinski primarily uses contemporary materials such as resin and aluminum, but also marble, stone, and bronze.
Richard Orlinski's aim with the "Born Wild" concept is to transform negative life impulses into positive emotions, to move from primal instinct to civilized emotion. The driving forces behind this metamorphosis are the artwork's aesthetic, the sculptor's pursuit of perfection, and the viewer's perception. A proponent of art accessible to all, Orlinski draws on popular imagery and iconic symbols to serve his purpose. He creates artworks that resonate with our primal urges and our most primal instincts.
EXHIBITIONS:
Richard Orlinski is world-renowned for his sculptures of wild animals displayed outdoors in major cities around the globe, such as Paris, Nice, London, and Dubai. These exhibitions, which took place in 2023, were therefore free and open to the public.
